NIWA provides online access to major climate and environmental monitoring systems and forecasting tools.

NIWA uses a wide range of cutting edge scientific instruments for its research and consultancy. We also specialise in developing and supplying custom systems and solutions for clients that need to monitor environmental conditions.
High Performance Computing
NIWA's Cray T3E super computer is essential for its climate, atmosphere, ocean and fisheries modelling work.
Library & Information Services
The NIWA Library & Information Services house the knowledge base supporting NIWA’s researchers.
Databases
NIWA’s Marine Benthic Biology Collection, National Climate Database, Water Resources Archive Database, and New Zealand Freshwater Fish Database are all officially defined as “heritage assets” – taonga of unique scientific importance.
